Luminous Lantern Parade

June 9

The South Bank lights up to recognise diversity. You might spot a luminous giraffe. You may see a colourful koala. You might discover yourself looking directly at the sun, but much closer than average. They are just a few of the lanterns that might illuminate the night sky during the 2023 Luminous Lantern Parade, which will be held again in South Bank Parklands on Friday, June 9, starting at 5 p.m.

Lifeline Bookfest Brisbane

With the help of a good book, you can travel without setting foot outside your home and experience a thousand different lifestyles. With more than a million used books available for four days only at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of the Lifeline Bookfest Brisbane, there are a million stories to get lost in.

You can find all genres of fiction, non-fiction, biographies, magazines, and unique, unusual finds at this free event, with books starting at $2.50. In addition to the affordable costs, every book you purchase contributes to the ongoing operations of the 13 11 14 Lifeline Crisis Support Line.

The Wizard of Oz – In Concert

June 30 to July 2

In June, Brisbane will welcome Prospero Arts’ outstanding concert adaptation of The Wizard of Oz for a limited run at QPAC’s Concert Hall. The legendary tunes, such as the Academy Award-winning “Over the Rainbow”, will enchant you as you travel over the rainbow to a place full of music and colour.

The Wizard of Oz – In Concert, directed by Amy Campbell, is one of Australia’s most successful creatives and features musical direction by Andrew Worboys and Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra performing on stage.

Dinosaurs of Patagonia

til October 2

View the most giant dinosaur in the world! Discover the Dinosaurs of Patagonia, which showcases sixteen life-sized dinosaur bones from South America. Take advantage of the chance to visit the Queensland Museum’s one-of-a-kind display, which has taken 230 million years to create.

Here is a bonus if you enjoyed these activities and would like more. Prepare to enter the fashion world on July 15 during RF Fashion Week 2023.
