Brisbane hosted the first ANZAC Day Parade on April 25, 1916. During Dawn Services and other commemorative events, Australians honour those who gave their lives in the name of freedom. Yet the ANZAC Day Parade also provides a chance to honour and remember all those who have served and are presently serving our country.
If you are staying with us in house on April 25, you can pay your respects at the parade on Adelaide Street, which runs between George Street and Creek Street from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The procession will include former and present ADF veterans and other groups that help make it the fitting memorial for its history.
If you haven’t booked your accomodation yet, be sure to make a reservation in a convenient area for easy access to the procession. Brisbane Airport is only a quick 15-minute drive from Annexe Apartments, we are located in the inner-city neighbourhood of Bowen Hills.

Brisbane Attractions
You should attend events at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre while you’re there. Queensland’s top entertainment venue is QPAC. They are currently showing HAMILTON, a modern-day American retelling of America’s past. The musical’s score combines elements of hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway.
How about seeing Giselle, the classic romantic ballet, to experience love, hostility, betrayal, and dramatic redemption? This romantic masterwork, which debuted in Paris, France, in 1841, is set in an ethereal world where vengeful spirits dance in the night and love triangles can be fatal. The QPAC will present Giselle from April 14 to April 29.
In addition, QPAC offers a Discovery Tour that gives you a unique opportunity to peek behind the scenes and experience the excitement of Queensland’s performing arts. The skilled tour guides will take you through the theatre’s rich history, revealing backstage secrets and undiscovered wonders that are certain to astound you.
Do you want to know more about Brisbane? The Brisbane Greeters Program is just one of the many excursions besides QPAC’s tour. Brisbane City Council offers free Brisbane Greeter tours for residents and guests to learn more about the city.
Why not venture outside of your comfort zone? Take Brisbane City’s Ultimate Segway Tour. Segways are easy to learn, and you don’t need to balance yourself because they do it for you.
