Moonlight Cinema
November 24 – February 19
This summer, Australia’s favourite, Moonlight Cinema, presented by Energizer, continues with more outdoor films. The Roma Street Parkland’s designer gardens and expansive lawns are great places to watch a movie. Bring your friends and family together and pack your picnic snacks and drinks.
Bean beds are in with all tickets for the premium sections; however, there is no seating in the General Admission area. So be there by 5:30 pm when the gates open. Screenings begin at dusk, approximately 7:15 pm.
HAMILTON at QPAC
From January 27
This January, a strictly limited run of the Tony®, Grammy®, Olivier and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical opens at the Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts.
The story of America back then is told in HAMILTON by America today. American founding father Alexander Hamilton’s tale, has transformed into a revolutionary musical called HAMILTON, with a score that fuses hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway. This musical has significantly influenced culture, politics, and education.
HAMILTON, based on the acclaimed biography by Ron Chernow, features music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, a book by Thomas Kail, a score by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision by Alex Lacamoire.
A Romantic Rendezvous in Brisbane

For a multi-author, multi-city Romantic Rendezvous, join special international guests Julia Quinn (author of the Bridgerton novels) and Audrey Carlan (author of The Marriage Auction), as well as a lineup of more than 40 local romance writers.
In 2019, the Australian Romance Readers Association launched a new series of events called A Romantic Rendezvous. The event features many authors held in different cities. Remember to attend the 2023 edition on February 11 from 10 am to 4 pm in Brisbane at Royal on the Park.
Movie Date Night
February 11
A special pre-Day Valentine’s double feature will help you celebrate the most romantic season of the year in Victoria Park. You can watch Up (PG) at 6:45 pm on February 11 and The Proposal (PG) at 8.30 pm. Not to worry, reservations are not necessary.
The Brisbane City Council hosts Movie Date Night as a free outdoor movie event. You can bring the kids, and leashed pets are also welcome. From 5:30 pm, food trucks will operate, but you can pack a picnic if you prefer. You should also bring a picnic blanket and mosquito repellant.
‘Dare to Do It!’ With Dick and Angel at QPAC

The Dare to Do It tour, led by Dick and Angel Strawbridge, the stars of the popular television series Escape to the Chateau, is coming to Australia for the first time.
Over the past few years, Dick and Angel’s adventures have captivated millions of viewers around the globe. However, the retired lieutenant colonel, engineer, and chef Dick and his businesswoman and fashion designer wife Angel still have many untold stories to share.
The husband-and-wife team, who fell in love in 2010, will be able to share fascinating insights with the audience about what motivated them to revive their fairytale castle, Château de la Motte-Husson, and transform it into the thriving enterprise it is today.
