We all missed it last year… but it’s back!
Here’s something to look forward to this August… The Ekka Royal Queensland Show is back and all set to return to bigger and better than ever before after last year’s unfortunate cancellation.
The Ekka, held at the Brisbane Showgrounds, is Brisbane’s biggest annual event: a huge showcase of agriculture and entertainment that lasts over a week.
The family-friendly celebration, which pulls in over 400,000 visitors each year, is simply not to be missed, boasting live music, live competitions, fairground rides, hands-on activities, mouth-watering regional food and produce, exhibitors, stallholders, animal displays and explosive fireworks display like no other – plus more.
And this year, Royal Queensland Show is making a comeback with a larger-than-life program to top previous years.

Royal Queensland Show 2021
Scheduled for 9 days, the 2021 Ekka Queensland Show is not holding back, set to deliver crowd-favourite events as well as a host of brand new and exciting things to look forward to.
Whether it’s your first time experiencing the Ekka or not, you’re not going to want to miss it this year.
Daytime Entertainment
Each day the huge Brisbane Showgrounds will come alive with family-friendly entertainment that will include Channel Seven Fashion Parade, Paw Patrol live show, Luke’s Reptile Kingdom, Farmyard Friends, unmissable performance lineups at the Multicultural Plaza Stage and XXXX Stockmen’s Bar, and more.
Animal Adventures and Animal Competitions
Love animals? At Ekka 2021 you’ll be able to get up close to your favourite animals with RACQ Animal Nursery, Cradle a Chick, Norco Milking Nursery and Sheep Shearing. There’ll also be an exciting program of live animal competitions, including alpacas, cattle, cats, dogs, fish, goats, horses, birds and sheep.
Food, Drinks and Refreshments
Taste the best of Queensland. Royal Queensland Show will once again feature multiple food precincts, including Gourmet Plaza and Woolworths Fresh Food Pavilion, plus a host of pop-up bars and restaurants to stop by, including Stockmen’s Bar, Cattlemen's Bar, Axeman’s Bar and Plaza Bar. Foodies and craft beer lovers are in for a treat.
EkkaNITES Main Arena – MG Fireworks Spectacular
EkkaNITES is Royal QLD Show’s epic nightly entertainment show, held in the Main Arena. MG Fireworks Spectacular has been revamped this year and will light up the sky each night with special effect fireworks from a 25m-high tower (plus more than 200 positions), galloping horse riders, motorcycles, high-speed utes, remote control cars, fire twirlers, LED scooters and more – basically, it’s not to be missed.

Royal Queensland Show 2021 will take place at the Brisbane Showgrounds for 9 days from August 7 to August 15.
Ticket prices (priced per day) are as follows:
Adult – $35
Concession – $25
Child – $20
Little Ekka (children under 4 years – FREE
Adult & Child – $45
Family Pass (2 adults, 2 children) – $80
Twilight Pass (adult entry after 4pm) – $20
The Royal Queensland Show Ekka will also be COVID Safe in line with QLD Health guidelines, ensuring the safety of all attendees through the capped daily entry, online ticketing (contactless entry), increased cleaning measures, roving COVID Safe marshalls and more.
